Our stay at the comfortable Thangam Grand Hotel in Madurai served as the perfect base, and thanks to Google Maps, finding our way to the temple was a breeze.

As we neared our destination, our excitement reached a crescendo when we caught sight of the ancient fort walls that guard the temple. Regrettably, the rush of the moment prevented us from capturing these awe-inspiring sights in a photograph, a missed opportunity for a memorable selfie.

We strategically timed our visit to the Pazhamudircholai Temple, choosing a weekday just before lunch hours to avoid the crowds. Finding parking was a breeze, setting the stage for a peaceful and contemplative visit.

This temple holds immense significance for Hindu pilgrims and especially for devotees of Lord Muruga. Unlike some other temples, we did not come across any restrictive notice boards, but as is customary in Hindu temples, photography inside the temple is prohibited.

Located approximately 25 kilometres from Madurai, reaching the Pazhamudircholai Temple by private transport is straightforward with the assistance of Google Maps. Additionally, there are public transport options available from Madurai for those who prefer a more communal journey.

The Pazhamudircholai Temple welcomes devotees from 5:30 AM to 7:30 PM every day of the week, providing ample opportunities to soak in its spiritual ambience.
